This may sound strange but I collect corks, mostly from prosecco/cava and on the odd occasion champagne bottles but also wine bottles, depending on the event. If it’s a special occasion and we happen to have a bottle, I like to take the cork and write the occasion on it, or a witty reminder of the evening and the year. I don’t remember when it started and in my many moves I have managed to lose quite a few, but I now have a drawer that they get kept in to keep them safe. The ones in the photo are from a few different occasions; here are a few of the captions:
The one with 35 presents, 2015.
The “£31” bottle, 2015.
Carnival Gin cocktails, 2016.
Fancy cider times, Xmas 2015.

That’s interesting! I collect pebbles, shells and idols! Cheers

Writing on the corks is a great way to mark the occasion.

It is indeed, I’m hoping to make some kind of display with them one day 🙂

Since getting married hubby and I have been collecting wine corks, we stick them on the wall behind the kitchen sink, we’ve got quite a collection now. Love the corks on the chessboard.

Thanks, I’m still thinking of a good way to display them so they dont get knocked over and disappear 🙂
