I know that by the time you find this letter you’ll be worried about me and I’m sorry for that.
I didn’t plan for this to happen in the way that it has but I wouldn’t really change it for the world either.
I hadn’t intended falling in love with her but you always said that our family was prone to runaway hearts, so you can’t be too shocked.
We’re going travelling, to see the world together, but I promise I’ll be in touch as soon as I can.
Try not be too mad at me.
Your loving daughter

Reminds me of my younger years, when I eloped with the love of my life!

I’m loving these short stories, Raven. There’s always a little element of surprise built into them.

Heartbreaking letter – hope I never have to read one like that! Good for her though, getting out on her own and seeing the world, hope it ends well for her.

This is really good, made me think all the way through (who’s the witer, what’s their story, why did they disappear etc) Love when stories climb in my head!

I love the line about “a family prone to runaway hearts”. 🙂 Good luck with the challenge. I’m skipping it this year but I’ll follow your pieces because I’m quite info flash fiction.

Nicely written and good for her. Although she might have left her mom a link to PFLAG. 😉
