#IWSG – creativity

This is my first IWSG of 2019 because January felt like a whirlwind and I completely forgot. It does seem fitting that this months question has been something that is closely related to a thought that I have been having a lot lately.

This month’s question: Besides writing what other creative outlets do you have?

At the moment quite a few, more than I can handle really, so if you take a nosy around my site then you will see that I take pictures from time to time, like for last years A to Z challenge and for the 100 day project.

At the end of last year I also started a few creative things here and there like bookbinding, which was a lot of fun.

I’ve still not used that notebook yet, even though I promised it wouldn’t sit empty on my shelf.

I also have taken up cross stitching which I used to do when I was a child and suddenly just had the urge to do. Here is something I have been working on lately.

One of my goals for 2019 was to try and do something creative every week because I really enjoyed these things, however, I did notice recently that I haven’t done any writing for a while. I posted a flash fiction post yesterday but that was the first one in a while and I realised that it has been quite some time since I’ve even scribbled ideas for stories down in any of my notebooks.

I’m wondering if maybe I just don’t have the capacity to do everything and I’ll always do things in stages, like I can’t do as much writing because I’m already fitting in blogging and reading and reviewing and working and creative things and spending time with friends and family etc etc.

Does anyone else get this?
