‘Dad is this what it really looked like?’

‘Well it’s before my time but yes, I’m sure your Grandad showed me a picture of one once.’

‘But it’s so dirty.’

‘Well it was outside so that anyone could use it and I don’t think they had people to clean them.’

‘Outside and communal, yuck!’

I remember pay phones well and loading my pockets with quarters to have a nice long conversation. Nice story Kate.
