Another shiver romance for me this week.

Luna suffers from an undiagnosed illness causing hallucinations and blackouts that have plagued her for years. The root of her bazaar illness comes to light when she meets her pro-wrestling hero, Gunner Cain, and his wrestling faction friends, The Tribe. Luna discovers her romantic connection to Gunner isn’t just a fangirl crush, he is her eternal soulmate.

After eight years of seeing visions of his mate, Gunner has fallen in love with Luna through their dream connection. He wants the human woman to become his Alpha dreamer mate in this steamy shifter tale of prophecy and romance.

As part of a prophecy written in the Lycan Oracle. Luna must choose to bond to the Alpha of the Tribe wolfpack, or all will be stuck in wolf form, forgetting their humanity forever. Luna learns that the steps they must take to complete the bonding ritual could also end a centuries-old curse, saving lone wolves abandoned by their packs and plagued with the dreaded Lycan fever. Gunner’s connection to Luna is more than prophecy fulfilled; it is hope for Lycan kind.

I was intrigued by the blurb of this book it didn’t seem like it was going to be the usual shifter romance especially with mentions of a prophecy, a curse, and Lycan fever involved, so I was pretty sure that this was something that was going to be different to storylines I had read before. It was definitely a very original take I liked that there was something a bit different about the story and how well that it was thought out, there were a lot of hurdles for the characters to jump through and it wasn’t always easy for them.

The wrestling aspect was actually quite fun for me, I used to know someone that was an amateur wrestler who also loved wrestling so I ended up going to matches and watching wrestling on tv for a while and I really enjoyed the memories it brought back, it was amusing reading about the crazy storylines and the atmosphere of the shows, it was actually a pretty good backdrop to the rest of the story. There was a lot of drama in the story and whilst a lot of it was diverting sometimes it felt like it was going by too quickly so that the story could rush to the next bit, which made me feel like I had missed something.

I will admit that I didn’t really gel with the writing style and I feel that there was too much telling rather than showing which at times made the dialogue feel unnatural but it was an entertaining story.

Loretta Kendall is a professional image consultant, writer, and author of the new novel Dreamer. She started her life with a daydream and a story in her mind. As long as Loretta can remember, she was a storyteller sharing stories with her friends from her overactive imagination. After twenty-two years as a talent manager, professional makeup artist, and photographer for the entertainment industry, she revisited her love for storytelling.

Loretta is a hopeless romantic and lives for a good happy ever after. Her husband must agree because they have had twenty-four years of wedded bliss. When she isn’t reading or writing steamy stories, she’s probably singing, watching pro wrestling while yelling at the TV, or spending time with nature.
