A bit of light reading over the weekend and a nice change in genre for me.

Moon Touched
Elizabeth Briggs
My fated mate rejected meโand now I’ve been captured by someone even worse.
As the half-human outcast of the Cancer pack, I’ve been beaten and bullied my whole life. Gaining my wolf form and my fated mate is my only chance to change packs and hope for a better life.
Except when my fated mate is revealed, he’s the future alpha of the Leo packโour worst enemies. He rejects me in front of everyone, just before the Leos slaughter my entire pack and murder my family.
I manage to escape, but then I’m kidnapped by a far greater threat: the alpha of the mysterious lost pack. The 13th sign was banished from the Zodiac Wolves years ago, and I thought they were just a myth.
They’re real. They’re holding me captive. And the dark, dangerous alpha is offering me something I can’t refuseโrevenge.

I have a confession to makeโฆmy social media algorithm recently started showing me these short video stories mostly about werewolves and I became a little addicted. However instead of making me use the advertised apps I decided to get my fix with some books instead. My picking up Moon Touched is the result of this and I have to say as guilty pleasure reads go it was pretty entertaining.
The use of the zodiac signs is clever, it adds certain preconceived attributes to the pack members and makes the rivalries very interesting, especially when some bad things happen and you see where the different packs’ loyalties are. I also like that they all have powers connected to their signs, itโs something a little different but adds some extra drama and tension throughout the book.
The inclusion of the sun and moon witches was a nice added extra and so was the 13th zodiac pack, I’m not going to lie I had to look that up because I was curious to see if that was invented or not. I learned something new that day. I really enjoyed the secretive nature of this pack and that they do things so differently from the rest of the zodiac packs.
I wasnโt too keen on Ayla at first, I just feel that the author made her a bit too dejected and pathetic and it was, for the first few chapters, a bit hit or miss as to whether I was going to keep up with this story or not. Luckily I was lured further into the story by the convergence ceremony and thankfully after that, her character didnโt grate on me quite so much.
I was a little let down by the romantic aspect of the story as well, there is only a slight hint of romance in this book. There is a lot of lust and some steamy scenes but the romance is obviously something that is going to build over a series so it doesnโt get very far emotionally between our two main characters. I can understand why but I thought maybe there would be a bit more between them to get me hooked.
Moon Touched is good if you are looking for an easy entertaining read that doesnโt require much effort and I am intrigued enough to give the series a shot.
