Board games specifically. In my family we only tend to play them at Christmas, I don’t know why only at that time of year, maybe it’s because everyone generally has more time off. I absolutely love it though. My family tend to be quite competitive as well, so it can get a bit heated to say the least.
We’ve got classic ones like monopoly and cluedo, but I’ve been trying to find some that are less well known. It can be a bit of a hit or miss. The last one I bought was on the fence at first because it does take a while to pick up the rules but turned out to be a riotous hit!! Wallace and Gromit’s Fleeced (pictured above) is a game by Nick Park, the object of the game is to collect as many sheep as you can and get them back to your home base. However the other players are allowed at certain points to rustle your sheep, this turns into a really funny game of cat and mouse as people try and rustle sheep back and forth. I’m really not doing it justice but it is such a fun game, once you’ve learned all the rules.
I’m almost scared to start looking for my board game for this year because it’s a hard act to follow and I’m worried I’ll choose a bad one! As ever if anyone has any suggestions I’m all ears…?
