Top 5 Wednesday is a weekly book meme, for more information have a look at the Goodreads Group.
This week the topic is favourite publishers…
I encourage you to take a look at your shelf and figure out which books come from which publishers. I think you’d be surprised how many probably end up coming from the same publishing house! Plus, this is your chance to introduce us to some of your favorite small presses or imprints. We talk about the contents or the wrappings of books a lot in this group, but rarely do we talk about the people that bring them together.
I have lots of books from lots of different publishers, unfortunately also in lots of different places as some are on my shelves and some are still in storage, so I decided that the best way forward was to keep it simple and just pick the five from what I have on my shelves currently.
1. Hodder & Stoughton | Sceptre
Hodder & Stoughton publish books from authors such as Jodi Picoult, Stephen King and John Grisham, now I do have lots of Jodi Picoult book but the ones I found on my shelves were from Erin McKean, Lauren Oliver and Becky Chambers. I also have a few books from one of their imprints Sceptre whose authors include Thomas Keneally, Melvyn Bragg and David Mitchell, the books I own are from authors Siri Hustvedt and Michael Chambon.
2. Harper Collins | Harper Voyager
Harper Collins publishes books from authors such as Patricia Cornwell, David Walliams and Cecilia Ahern, the books I have from this publisher are one of my most sizeable collections from Melissa Marr. From imprint Harper Voyager I have books from one of their most well-known authors George R.R. Martin, as well as Ray Bradbury and Lauren DeStefano.
3. Pan Macmillan
One of their best selling authors is David Baldacci, I have loads of his books, it’s become an almagamation of my Dad’s collection and mine. Other books on my shelf from this publisher are from Naomi Novik and Alyson Nöel.
4. Quercus
Their most popular books are from Steig Larsson’s Millenium Series, all of which are on my shelves, as well as books from Cat Clarke and CC Gibbs.
5. Montlake Romance
My last choice for today is because of two of their authors that I really enjoy reading Catherine Bybee and Tiffany Snow.
