It’s Friday!! I don’t know about you but I’m looking forward to some weekend down time. Today I have a review of NA romance Tainted and there is a giveaway that you’ll want to check out too.

Rhys Wyatt is as arrogant as he is beautiful, and Ivy Bishop has been infatuated with him forever. The night Ivy makes her move, it ends horribly, leaving her utterly heartbroken.
Three years later, Ivy is dating Blaine Wyatt; Rhys’s loving and tender younger brother. With Rhys and their past somewhat out of her mind, everything about her relationship with Blaine seems perfect. But when Blaine leaves Ivy alone all summer; neither of them anticipated Rhys to return, or him and Ivy to be stuck living under the same roof…
Rhys never believed Ivy would be all grown up and everything he’s ever wanted – gorgeous, perfectly alluring, and an infuriatingly tempting beauty he has to keep his hands off of. But the more they try to resist each other, the more intense their urges become, until one night changes everything, and Wyatt brothers will never be the same.

This is my go-to type of book if I’m in a reading slump, a dramatic and intense romance, one that can be put down and picked up again and can easily ensnare me in what’s happening.
Tainted didn’t disappoint in that respect, it made for easy but enjoyable reading. Now I know there are those of you out there who aren’t into the good old love triangle and sometimes I can find myself in that group but other times I find that I want the drama that a good triangle creates.
This particular one involves brothers so I was expecting some fireworks, luckily I got them but even better than that, without trying to give too much away, there was one point that I thought maybe the author was going to try and take the easy way out which I would have been disappointed in, but she didn’t. It was kind of unexpected and I appreciated that I was able to be surprised by the characters actions.
The characters are very typical of this kind of book, Rhys is the hot alpha footballer who is a bit of a player and Ivy the cute, smart, girl next door type who is convinced that he would never go for her. I loved their chemistry, and that they also turned out to be a little more than what I’d pegged them as. Rhys has a vulnerable and selfless side, he wants Ivy to make the best decision for her, no matter the outcome for him and Ivy, who is kind of feisty, makes mistakes and ends up needing to be a bit selfish so that she can grow.
I think the one thing that maybe annoyed me a little was that there wasn’t more of Blaine in the book, we know that he and Ivy are together but we don’t really get to see them being a couple. We hear about it through Ivy but I think I would have liked to get a little more chemistry between them before he disappeared off, just so that the tension would have been top notch.
I’m looking forward to my next Amanda Cowen book and I have noticed that this is the first book in a Wyatt series so I’m looking forward to seeing what follows this one.
