“I really want to go in”

“We’re not allowed”

“But just to paddle my feet, it’s too hot.”

“Mum says that there is a monster in the water that eats little boys that disturb it with splashing.”

“Paddling isn’t splashing…”

“It might still eat you though.”

“I don’t know if Mum is telling the truth.”

“Why?”

“Well remember the time we went to the Highlands in Scotland and she told us about the three-legged Haggis that could only run one way around the hill and if we ran the other way we were sure to catch it?”

“Oh yeah, I was super tired after that, I’m really annoyed we didn’t see it.”

“Well I don’t think it exists”

“What do you mean?”

“I think Mum made it up.”

“Why would she do that?”

“I don’t know…”
