This months question is: What publishing path are you considering/did you take, and why?
That is a difficult question, I mean self-publishing would mean I would have all the creative control which would be wonderful in certain respects but it would also be a lot of pressure. There is also the financing aspect of doing it all yourself that would be a worry but I do feel like if I had a finished product that I was happy with then I would be willing to take the chance.
Of course, my dream would be to be picked up by a publisher or agent, just for my own sense of validation. I think I would feel as if I were actually good at writing if that happened.
I think at the end of the day as long as I one day produce a full story that I am happy with I’ll go with whatever option suits me best at that point.
I’ve actually had an idea that has really excited me recently so that may be sooner than I think but I’ll see how I do getting the words on paper first before I get too ahead of myself.

I think it’s so important for any author to do the research and make the choice based on what best suits them and their work. I started out on one path, but ended up in a completely different place. I’m glad I did—I think I’m much happier.
Best of luck with your writing!

Thanks. Yes, I think I’ll need to be open-minded when I get to that stage 🙂
