Yonder #AtoZChallenge

Sophie and Mark were lost. The signal on the island was terrible, the map on Marks phone wouldn’t load and they hadn’t thought to bring a paper copy.

The scenery here was beautiful but they wanted to get a picture at every place they had marked in his phone and they were determined.

When they came across someone else walking along the cliffs they asked him where Burray Point was. He pointed to a cliff in the distance and said, “Over yonder”

As if it wasn’t miles away over rocky terrain, with a steep drop into a stormy sea.

As part of the AtoZ challenge I am writing flash fiction of no more than 100 words. Today’s prompt was…

Yonder

(Even though it’s gone up a day late)

You can catch up with my other entries for this year’s A to Z here.
