20 books of summer 2019 results

I have to admit I’m feeling a little sheepish over this year’s challenge, not because I didn’t get to twenty books, I had a feeling that would be the case anyway, but because I managed to miscount the amount I read. I was a bit of a twit and thought I had read ten books which was kind of my goal but it turns out that I only read nine, I was using twitter to remind me which book I was on and seem to have gone from five to seven…what an idiot!

So I need to learn to count properly or not to trust my own twitter posts or to just double-check myself. Anyway even though I didn’t quite make my target I’m still pleased that I managed more books than I did last year and that I managed a good few that were on my original list, rather than the kind of ad hoc thing I had going on last year.

Just to recap here are the books that I originally hoped that I would read…

Out of those, I managed to read seven:

The Diabolic by SJ Kincaid

Six Stories by Matt Wesolowski

A Gathering Of Shadows by VE Schwab

Lord Of Secrets by Breanna Teintze

The Kingdom by Jess Rothenberg

The Girl Who Came Out Of The Woods by Emily Barr

The Perfect Wife by JP Delaney

Of course, I couldn’t help myself and went off list for two of my reads those were…

girls of paper and fire                                                       how it was

Girls Of Paper And Fire by Natasha Ngan             How It Was by Janet Ellis

Next year I am hoping I can beat this total, and maybe do as well with sticking to my list because that’s not too bad for me.

So how did everyone else do with their challenge?
